  • Applicable to individual homeowners, housing societies, and small residential buildings.

  • Encourages households to generate their own clean electricity and reduce dependence on conventional power.

The scheme is implemented by GEDA (Gujarat Energy Development Agency) in collaboration with the state’s DISCOMs like PGVCL, DGVCL, UGVCL, and MGVCL.

A solar rooftop system is a solar power setup installed on the roof of a residential, commercial, or industrial building. It captures sunlight using solar photovoltaic (PV) panels and converts it into electricity.

In Gujarat, solar rooftop systems are commonly grid-connected, which means:

  • The generated solar power is used to run household or business appliances.

  • Any excess electricity is exported to the grid through net metering.

  • You earn credits or reduce your electricity bill based on the excess units sent back to the grid.

Due to Gujarat’s high solar radiation and proactive government support, rooftop solar is a cost-effective and sustainable energy solution for residents and businesses.
